Gatifloxacin (mesylate) is an antibiotic of the fourth-generation fluoroquinolone family. It also inhibits the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.

Latifolin also shows antifungal activity against white- and brown-rot fungi.
