2α-Ferrocenylmethyl-DHT is a ferrocene-steroid conjugate derived from dihydrotestosterone. It inhibits the growth of various cancer cells and can induce S-phase cell cycle arrest in ovarian cancer cells. Additionally, it raises intracellular iron levels, triggers ROS (reactive oxygen species)-dependent cell death, and disrupts the integrity of multicellular tumor spheroids in ovarian cancer cells. 2α-Ferrocenylmethyl-DHT is useful for research in prostate and ovarian cancer.
