荧光蛋白

绿色荧光蛋白(Green fluorescent protein,GFP)，是一个由约238个氨基酸组成的蛋白质，从蓝光到紫外线都能使其激发，发出绿色荧光。在细胞生物学与分子生物学中， GFP基因常用做报导基因。通过基因工程， GFP基因能稳转进不同物种的基因组，在后代中持续表达。现在，GFP基因已被导入并表达在许多物种，包括细菌，酵母和其他真菌，鱼（例如斑马鱼），植物，苍蝇，甚至人等的哺乳动物细胞。

红色荧光蛋白（Red fluorescent protein,RFP）来源于珊瑚虫，这是一种跟绿色荧光蛋白同源的荧光蛋白，在紫外光的照射下，可发射出红色荧光。
