YVAD-CHO TFA is an inhibitor of interleukin-1β converting enzyme (ICE, caspase 1) with a Ki of 0.76 nM. It suppresses the production of mature IL-1β and can partially slow the death of motor neurons in mice with facial nerve injuries.
