Bipolaricin R (Compound 6) is a compound isolated from the fungus Bipolaris maydis. It shows significant antibacterial activity against Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Additionally, Bipolaricin R exhibits excellent antiproliferative effects and induces apoptosis in the A549 cell line.
