ALLM (Calpain inhibitor II), a potent calpain and cathepsin protease inhibitor, not only prevents neuronal cell death but also enhances chronic neurological function following spinal cord injury (SCI)[1][2].
体内活性

ALLM (Calpain inhibitor II) (0.5 mg/kg) is injected every 24 h for 5 days after SCI and inhibits the activation of calpain but not that of caspase 3. ALLM (0.05-2.5 mg/kg; i.p.; every 24 h for 1 week) reduces motor disturbances after spinal cord injury (SCI)[2]. ALLM prevents this neuronal cell death[2].
