Triclopyr triethylamine, a herbicide, can induce lethargy in Northern red-legged frogs during their metamorphosis period, resulting in a delay in the completion of metamorphosis. Triclopyr triethylamine is used for controlling broadleaf emergent aquatic weeds, such as the invasive species purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria).
