Phospholipase C, Bacillus cereus (EC 3.1.4.3), induces the expression of phospholipase C, resulting in the production of 1,2-diacylglycerol and phosphatidic acid. This enzyme hydrolyzes the phosphate bonds in phosphatidylcholine and other glycerophospholipids, yielding diacylglycerol. It also acts on the phosphate bonds in sphingomyelin, cardiolipin, choline plasmalogen, and ceramide phosphorylcholine.
