L-galactono-1,4-lactone dehydrogenase (GALDH) has been employed to investigate the molecular communication between Arabidopsis thaliana L-galactono-1,4-lactone dehydrogenase (GALDH) and its natural electron acceptor cytochrome c (Cc). Experimental evidence indicates that cytochrome c utilizes a conserved surface surrounding the heme edge for interactions with L-galactono-1,4-lactone dehydrogenase (GALDH) and additional redox partners. These findings support the use of L-galactono-1,4-lactone dehydrogenase (GALDH) in studies of mitochondrial electron transfer, redox biology, and plant metabolic regulation. |
