L-Cysteine-1-13C (Standard) is a reference standard of L-Cysteine-1-13C intended for quantitative analysis, quality control, and related biochemical research applications. L-Cysteine-1-13C is L-Cysteine labeled with 13C. It is a conditionally essential amino acid and serves as a precursor to biologically active molecules such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S), glutathione, and taurine. L-Cysteine also has the ability to inhibit ghrelin, thereby reducing appetite in both rodents and humans.
