[Catalytic activity] UDP-glucose + N-acylsphingosine = UDP + D-glucosyl-N-acylsphingosine. Lipid metabolism; sphingolipid metabolism. [Subcellular location] Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 2 family.
