Microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP) and apolipoprotein B (ApoB) are necessary for lipoprotein assembly. MTP binds ApoB with high affinity and involves ionic interactions. MTP interacts at multiple sites in the N-terminal beta alpha domain of apoB[3].
