5-Methoxyindole-3-acetic acid (5-Methoxyindoleacetic acid) is a metabolite of Melatonin and is isolated from pineal tissue.
体内活性

经胎盘给药的5-Methoxyindole-3-acetic acid 具有诱发细胞繁殖的活性，在84%的C57BL/6小鼠后代中引发了恶性和良性肿瘤（淋巴肉瘤、腺瘤、肝瘤及其他肿瘤）的发展。与对照组相比，5-Methoxyindole-3-acetic acid 组肿瘤的数量显著增多，并且出现得更早，恶性程度更高[2]。
