BPH-652 treatment (0.5 mg twice per day (days ?1, 0, 1, and 2), i.p.) significantly lowers S. aureus bacterial counts in the kidneys of the mice than those of the control group, with 8 of 13 below the detection threshold, versus only 2 of 14 in the control group; on average, this result corresponds to a 98% decrease in surviving bacteria in the treatment group.
