STAMBP (STAM Binding Protein) is a Protein Coding gene. The STAMBP gene, located on 2p13.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, fruit fly, mosquito, and frog. The protein encoded by this gene binds to the SH3 domain of the signal-transducing adaptor molecule and plays a critical role in cytokine-mediated signaling for MYC induction and cell cycle progression. STAMBP is a JAMM-family deubiquitinating enzyme containing the microtubule-interacting/transport domain and STAM-binding domain. STAMBP is widely expressed in the thyroid, brain, and other tissues. Microcephaly-capillary malformation syndrome is a congenital and neurodevelopmental disorder caused by biallelic mutations in the STAMBP gene. Among its related pathways are the EGF/EGFR Signaling Pathway and Metabolism of proteins.
