Antibiotic MA 144M1 is an anthracycline glycoside that inhibits the growth of gram-positive bacteria, e.g. Staphyococcus aureaus, Bacillus subtilis and Sarcina lutea, and inhibits the growth of animal tumors such as leukemia L 1210, P 388 and sarcoma 180. It's produced by fermentation of MA 144-producing strains of streptomyces and by the chemical or enzymatic conversion of aclacinomycin A or cinerubin A.

Musettamycin is a potent inducer of erythroid differentiation in hemopoietic cells lines of rodent and human origin. It also has antimicrobial effects similar to the anthracycline class since it inhibits gram-positive bacteria and typically doesn't affect gram-negative bacteria.
Quipazine maleate is a selective 5-HT receptor agonist that promotes the proliferation and apoptosis of human hepatocyte strain of L-02 strain and could also exert an excitatory effect on raphe neurons via stimulation of 5-HT2A receptors. Like quipazine, quipazine derivatives produce contracture of smooth muscle organs and bronchospasm.
