MtbHU-IN-1 (SD4) is an inhibitor of Mycobacterium tuberculosis nucleoid-associated protein HU (MtbHU), with Kds of 98 nM, 760 nM, 980 nM, 340 nM and 730 nM for WT and mutant MtbHUs, respectively.Specifically inhibit HU-DNA binding, disrupt nucleoid architecture and reduce Mtb growth. The stilbene inhibitors induce gene expression changes in Mtb that resemble those induced by HU deficiency. Indicate that HU is a potential target for the development of therapies against tuberculosis[1].
