τ-Fluvalinate is a pyrethroid acaricide.1It induces tail currents in Western honeybee (A. mellifera) voltage-gated sodium channels (AmNav1) expressed inXenopusoocytes (EC50= 60 nM). It also induces tail currents in honeybee parasitic Varroa mite (V. destructor) Nav1 channels (VdNav1) expressed inXenopusoocytes (EC50= 160 nM) with a faster tail current decay than that of AmNav1 channels. Topical application of τ-fluvalinate (2 μl) in combination with coumaphos , atrazine , 2,4-DMPF, chlorpyrifos , and chlorothalonil does not affect honeybee queen mass, egg-laying patterns, or the mass of daughter worker bees at emergence.2Formulations containing τ-fluvalinate have been used to control Varroa mites in beehives. 1.Gosselin-Badaroudine, P., and Chahine, M.Biophysical characterization of the Varroa destructor NaV1 sodium channel and its affinity for τ-fluvalinate insecticideFASEB J.31(7)3066-3071(2017) 2.McAfee, A.Honey bee queen health is unaffected by contact exposure to pesticides commonly found in beeswaxSci. CYPMPO is a free radical spin trap with excellent trapping capabilities toward hydroxyl and superoxide radicals in biological and chemical systems. Decay of the superoxide adduct of CYPMPO proceeds in an apparent first order fashion with half-lives of 15 and 51 minutes in a UV-illuminated hydrogen peroxide solution and a hypoxanthine/xanthine oxidase system, respectively. CYPMPO traps superoxide radicals generated by bovine neutrophils as effectively as DEPMPO.[1] The high melting point (126°C), low hygroscopic properties, and long shelf-life in aqueous solutions offer significant practical advantages for use of CYPMPO over DEPMPO and DMPO.
RO5126946 is a Novel α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor-positive allosteric modulator. RO5126946 allosterically modulates α7nAChR activity. RO5126946 increased acetylcholine-evoked peak current and delayed current decay but did not affect the recovery of α7nAChRs from desensitization. In addition, RO5126946's effects were absent when nicotine-evoked currents were completely blocked by coapplication of the α7nAChR-selective antagonist methyl-lycaconitine.
DC4 crosslinker, an 18Å mass spectrometry-cleavable crosslinking reagent, features two intrinsic positive charges facilitating the fragmentation of cross-linked peptides into their constituent peptides through collision-induced dissociation or in-source decay. Initial fragmentation leads to cleavage adjacent to the positive charges, enabling the identification of cross-linked peptides as pairs of ions with precise mass separation. Furthermore, the resultant intact peptide fragments can undergo further fragmentation, producing a sequence of b- and y-ions for peptide identification.
14-Deoxycoleon U has anti-termitic activity, it is highly active against both wood-decay fungi. 14-Deoxycoleon U shows antibacterial activity against the Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterococcus faecalis, and
20-Deoxocarnosol has antioxidant activity of measuring the decay of the radical cation diphenyl-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH).It also exhibits non-specific antiprotozoal activity due to high cytotoxicity.
