Resveratrol analog 2 is an analog of Resveratrol. Resveratrol is a natural polyphenolic phytoalexin with possesses anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective, and anti-cancer properties.
A1-Phytoprostane-I is a cyclopentenone isoprostane produced by the action of reactive oxygen species on α-linolenic acid in plants. There are two A1-phytoprostanes, both having the single ketone group on the ring structure. This isoform results from cyclization between carbons 9 and 13 of linolenic acid, as opposed to carbons 3 and 7 in A1-phytoprostane-II. A1-Phytoprostanes induce the expression of glutathione-S-transferase, increase phytoalexin biosynthesis, and trigger the expression of several genes involved in primary and secondary metabolism in plants.
Cerebroside C is a fungal metabolite and glycosphingolipid that has been found in the rice pathogenic fungusM. grisea.1It induces production of the phytoalexin momilactone A when applied to wounded rice leaves, indicating that cerebroside C is an elicitor of the hypersensitive response in rice. Cerebroside C increases germination rate and reduces germination time in wheat seeds in a concentration-dependent manner at 4°C.2It also increases root length, fresh weight, and dry weight of wheat seedlings when used at a concentration of 20 μg/ml at 4°C, indicating increased chilling tolerance.
