趋化因子是诱导白细胞以及其他细胞类型(包括内皮细胞和上皮细胞)定向运动的细胞分泌的细胞因子或信号蛋白家族。除了在激活宿主免疫反应中发挥重要作用外,趋化因子对生物过程也很重要,包括形态发生和伤口愈合,以及癌症等疾病的发病机制。一些趋化因子被认为是促炎的,可以在免疫反应期间诱导,将免疫系统的细胞募集到感染部位,而另一些趋化因子被认为是稳态的,并且在组织维持或发育的正常过程中参与控制细胞的迁移。趋化因子分为四个主要亚家族:CXC、CC、CX3C 和 C。所有趋化因子都通过与称为趋化因子受体的 G 蛋白连接的跨膜受体相互作用来发挥其生物学效应。
